SILENT and TIMELESS
The competition asked for the redesign of 6 focal points on the Gallipoli Peninsula Historic National Park, which included monuments built after WW1 and war relics. Gallipoli Peninsula is almost always associated with the Battle of Gallipoli of 1915. Our proposal aimed to bring forth the timeless and permanent aspect of the Gallipoli Peninsula, devoid of any possession and national identity: the geological history of the landform. The design, therefore, consisted of tilled crushed stone fields that form the Gallipoli Peninsula. Timeless, silent and contemplative, the stone fields covered the landscape forming a common ground unifying all the war relics. This timeless and geological idea was assumed in all aspects of the design proposal reflecting in the graphic identity, architecture and outdoor furniture designs.
