Redesign of the restaurant area at Salt Galata to host the new restaurant Neolokal consisted of interventions that transformed the space as opposed to a gut renovation. We replaced the existing stair to alleviate the heaviness its positioning brings and relocated the Hüseyin Bahri Alptekin Library out of the dining space downstairs into Salt Research. Upstairs and downstairs, custom made copper and acrylic light fixtures were designed as well as a copper clad bar. The existing marble floor was ornamented by a pattern applied in vinyl cut-outs. We also added a seat-in tasting bar in front of the open kitchen.
